Reebok The Pump – Black / White

Reebok is kickin’ it old school with its latest release for the Reebok The Pump. No Reebok Pump Omni here like we usually see. The original Pump is seeing the light of day in a clean black/white colorway. The shoe uses a black leather upper and a white midsole to match the white accents throughout the shoe. Grey is also added in the mix at the heel,ankle, and sole. A full functional pump action makes us reminisce about slam dunk contests and flying. These Pumps will be a limited release, available to only select retailers later on this year around November. close

At the beginning of the week, we showed you numerous classic Reebok sneakers as a part of Shawn Kemp’s timeless signature sneaker line (See Player Profiles). However, in an attempt to return to glory, Reebok is set to re-release a classic in the form of The Pump.Reebok is bringing The Pump back in honor of its 20-year anniversary. It will feature a predominately black premium leather base combined with white accents throughout the entire upper. Yet, its most evident features appear in the form of the basketball leather-colored accents, namely the timeless ‘Pump’ accent on the tongue. Reebok The Pump â€" Black / White

Any 80s baby out there remembers wanting a pair of Reebok Pumps BAD. Any pair they could get their hands on. The technology was not only groundbreaking but also a fashion forward leap into the future. Well good for all of us that couldn’t cop back then or are looking to replace the memory, Reebok is releasing the OG model of the shoe that helped solidify the brand as a forerunner. Reebok – Pump Technology 20th Ann

HSSSSSS.  It’s a sound that helped Reebok stay on the forefront of athletic footwear.  Quickly being eclipsed by the liked of Nike, Reebok brought about a new innovation in custom fitted sneakers.  However this new Pump Technology was not successful in making sales, but rather gave them some  spotlight, as The Pump debuted in ‘89 at a whopping $200.  Even when it was brought back, coincidentally under the Bringback moniker, it just didn’t quite do it for consumers despite the tons of people who found nostalgia in it being the shoe that represented Dominique Wilkins in his golden era.But with the more current trend era giving much more of a appreciation for (super)hi-tops, Reebok finds it only appropriate to celebrate their 20 years of Pump Technology with the retro of The Pump.  The tooling may seem similar to those already familiar with the more popular Pump styles which Reebok has already been pushing for quite some time now.  However, this oldie features a much higher ankle structure, but more importantly differing from the latter styles, the air release valve is located on the heel tab rather than on the tongue conveniently right next to the pump itse close

Bodega x Reebok The Pump – 20th A

With leaks here and there of the select boutiques chosen to design their own Pump 20, Bodega is now upon the list of those who are now giving a sneak peak of the prestigious collab.  Dubbed “The Outback,� the camouflaged Boston shop goes for a military theme, combining the likes of nubuck, canvas and reflective materials to compose the upper.  Accented by trek laces, a mesh tongue and custom dog tags to replace the typical ball pump hangtags, the shoes will be packaged with a custom tshirt in a military ammo box.  Supposedly, each pair will reveal a message to a secret location for another rare opportunity, following suit to previous Bodega projects.  An exquisite design, these only illustrate the creative masterminds behind Bodega.  Like all the other special 20th Anniversary Pumps, these will be limited to only 31 pairs, exclusively available at Bodega on November 20th.  via HB.Read the rest of Bodega x Reebok The Pump – 20th Anniversary Collection© Sneaker News, 2009. |Permalink |No comment |Add todel.icio.us close
