If a manga artist was to draw the 917 Mid in his work and that resulting pictures is promptly realized in the real world with three dimensions, this would be the end product. PUMA - 917 Mid Manga

Manga fans should think these are just the bees knees. The Puma 917 Mid is given a Japanese animation feel with its graphic reworking in homage of the celebrated genre of film. The 3D translation is rendered beautifully using dots for shading in concert with lines and a reflective toe cap. Pictures usually don’t do products justice and while this still holds true for this one its kinda cool to see the three dimensional object that mimics a two dimensional drawing reduced to a two dimensional photograph. The story of the MY-23, in the words of its designer and longtime PUMA collaborator, Yasuhiro Mihara:“Here, it looks like a splash. You’re stepping through the water and have a splash on your shoes. The theme was ‘While people ran away from a zombie.’ At midnight, you see the horror movie on TV and people and screaming and sweating to run away. When you change the channel, at nighttime, you have the shopping channel, and there, people are exercising vigorously. So I got the inspiration from those two TV programs together. They are the theme of the design.” close
