PUMA Union Square NYC - Usain Bolt

Clocked in at 9.58 seconds for 100 meter and 19.19 seconds for 200 meter, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is undoubtedly the Fastest Man on Earth.  For the launch of his signature t-shirt collection by PUMA, the world record holder (and breaker) will be making a special appearance at PUMA Union Square store in New York City tomorrow.  Bolt will be greeting fans, signing autographs, and maybe, just maybe, break another world record…with a name like Bolt, you can’t help but be fast…The event starts at 3 pm tomorrow afternoon.PUMA Union Square NYC 33 Union Square West | Map(bet. Converse Wade 3 - Special Edition

Dwyane Wade wore the Converse Wade 3 during the 2007-08 season.  The shoe featured a sharp, angular design punctuated by a series of triangles stacked on the heel.  While there were plenty of colourways released for the season, these two pairs were not among that run.  NikeTalk member dandill23 apparently found these colourways at his local Converse outlet and no one, including the owner, can account for them.  It seems unlikely that they were samples, considering their appearance in US mens size 13, but the red/black and tonal brown pairs you’ll see after the jump are a mystery to us.  Take a look at the photos and let us know if you’ve seen these at your local Cons outlet or anywhere else.Read the rest of Converse Wade 3 - Special Edition© Sneaker News, 2009. |Permalink |4 comments |Add todel.icio.us close

The PUMA MY-23

The story of the MY-23, in the words of its designer and longtime PUMA collaborator, Yasuhiro Mihara:“Here, it looks like a splash. You’re stepping through the water and have a splash on your shoes. The theme was ‘While people ran away from a zombie.’ At midnight, you see the horror movie on TV and people and screaming and sweating to run away. When you change the channel, at nighttime, you have the shopping channel, and there, people are exercising vigorously. So I got the inspiration from those two TV programs together. They are the theme of the design.” close

Alden X Context - Tanker Boot

After collaborating with J. Crew, New England’s coveted and refined shoe maker, Alden, had continued on to work with retailer, Context, to produce an exclusive Tanker Boot. This pair of mid-top black leather boot is crafted after a WWI and WWII US military issued boot. The boot adopts the painstaking Mock and Norwegian skin stitch which are only done by hand using two needles and two threads. As the process of skin stitch is extremely time consuming, Alden craftsmen can produce no more than six pairs of Tanker Boots per day. The boot upper is made of Novo calf skin which is known for its high moisture content to provide durability and comfort. On the inside, the shoe is lined with vegetable tanned glove leather and the shoes also feature the 360 degree Goodyear Welt for durability and water resistance. The boots are given the right amount of shine for a sleek appearance and it will conform to fit the shape of the wearer’s feet over time. These boots are fantastic for both dressing up and dressing down, and will outlast the true test of time.
