PUMA - Clyde PF Limited Edition

The PUMA Clyde is a classic model from PUMA with it’s history going back to the 80’s.  For the Holiday 2009 season PUMA  have dropped these two new Clyde PF Limited Edition colorways on the classic silhouette using patent leather uppers instead of the popular suede or smooth leather. The key feature being the gradient colors from the back to the front with finely printed dots making up the gradual change in colors. Contrasting colors are used for maximum effect and the shoes can look completely different from the front angle and back angle. White colorway is white on the front with the back being jet black while the black colorway is black on the front with metallic gold on the back portion. Each sneaker comes with matching shoe laces in two colors and crisp white classic soles. The story of the MY-23, in the words of its designer and longtime PUMA collaborator, Yasuhiro Mihara:“Here, it looks like a splash. You’re stepping through the water and have a splash on your shoes. The theme was ‘While people ran away from a zombie.’ At midnight, you see the horror movie on TV and people and screaming and sweating to run away. When you change the channel, at nighttime, you have the shopping channel, and there, people are exercising vigorously. So I got the inspiration from those two TV programs together. They are the theme of the design.” close

Alden X Context - Tanker Boot

After collaborating with J. Crew, New England’s coveted and refined shoe maker, Alden, had continued on to work with retailer, Context, to produce an exclusive Tanker Boot. This pair of mid-top black leather boot is crafted after a WWI and WWII US military issued boot. The boot adopts the painstaking Mock and Norwegian skin stitch which are only done by hand using two needles and two threads. As the process of skin stitch is extremely time consuming, Alden craftsmen can produce no more than six pairs of Tanker Boots per day. The boot upper is made of Novo calf skin which is known for its high moisture content to provide durability and comfort. On the inside, the shoe is lined with vegetable tanned glove leather and the shoes also feature the 360 degree Goodyear Welt for durability and water resistance. The boots are given the right amount of shine for a sleek appearance and it will conform to fit the shape of the wearer’s feet over time. These boots are fantastic for both dressing up and dressing down, and will outlast the true test of time. Puma x Sergio Rossie, Fall 2009 | C

Puma collaborates with Italian shoe designer Sergio Rossie in fashioning two specific silhouettes respectively based on the low-top “Clyde” and “First Round” high-top.  Both models are donned in black, white, blue, leather, and suede to create a consisten look throughout the two models.
