Adding to its already impressive roster of collaborators that include Alexander McQueen and Mihara Yasuiro, PUMA announced a new initiative for its Urban Mobility line by its new creative director, Hussein Chalayan.  A graduate of Central Saint Martins College, the Turkish-born British fashion designer’s impressive achievements include back-to-back British Fashion Awards for Designer of the Year and as the first winner of Absolut Creation Award.  Moreover, its Chalayan’s ability to take on risk in his design, which many times include the latest technology, that have won him accolades around the globe.  In the new PUMA Urban Mobility Collection, Chalayan will once again explore that fine boundary between fashion and technology.  As fashion with functional forms for today’s urbanites, the collection will include jackets with pockets in different sizes for ease of access to various gadgets we carry everyday, pants with compartment designed for security screening at airports, or outerwear that could be worn as a dress or a jacket.  Price falls right around adidas SLVR’s range, its nearest competitor, from $50 to $353.  The new PUMA Urban Mobility Collecti close

Puma Urban Mobility Pack – Previe

With the announcement of their Urban Mobility pack this past August, people have been long awaiting a preview of Puma’s technologically innovative efforts. Of particular concern to us sneakerheads are the images of two high-top models that hit the web earlier this week. Featuring grey-black futuristic color schemes, both models incorporate the use of suede, while the model that resembles the Puma First Round throws patent leather and canvas into the mix. Designed by noted fashion designer Hussein Chalayan, Puma’s Urban Mobility pack is scheduled to release in the Spring/Summer of 2010.Via Hypebeast close

Puma Urban Mobility Pack â€" Previe

The Urban Mobility Pack is responsible for some of Puma’s cooler efforts this past year. Resulting in very well designed footwear and accessories they have definitely covered street corner couture. Here we see two upcoming models in familiar styles. The grey suede chukka like shoe has a very subtly detailed upper while the other upper brings other materials into the mix. Puma Urban Vistech Linen

Despite a relative lack of significant collaborations following the dope 24K Collection by UNDFTD, Puma manages to catch our attention with yet another wacky design.  This time, it’s the Puma Urban Vistech Linen, a curiously named sneaker that actually manages to get part of its look across with the strange name.The Urban Vistech appears to be a super hightop, but it’s actually more of a lowcut running style silhouette with a big, floppy, foldable linen canvas collar.  Just when you think you could picture a guy like Marcus Troy rocking these with his urban minuteman look, you notice the crazy fucshia and yellow cushioning system.  Kinda makes you think old school Kanye, but neither of these guys is likely to rep the German cat.  Make these your own when they hit select Puma retailers in the near future.  via ShoesMasterRead the rest of Puma Urban Vistech Linen© Sneaker News, 2010. |Permalink |No comment |Add todel.icio.us close

Puma Urban Vistech Linen

Puma is no stranger to daring design or avant garde fashion. The brand has been flirted with being fashion forward for quite some time now and the Urban Vistech Linen is just another example of what they are capable of doing.The shoes sport a very futuristic look with its linen upper that culminates in a floppy collar that bunches up around your ankle. The deceptive shoe looks like a high top upon first glance but its army green upper is definitely a low.
