Nike P-Rod x Tinker x Jordan - Zoom

While growing up in San Fernando Valley, Paul Rodriguez (P-Rod) would take his skateboard to the loading dock at his local Albertsons supermarket and practice tricks. Fast forward a handful of years and Paul Rodriguez was blessed with a signature shoe from Nike SB. Then, the greatest designer to ever blueprint a bubble decided to put his own hands on the first Nike P-Rod. Sir Tinker Hatfield is the architect and designer who fused elements of the first P-Rod sneakers with cement print and the Air Jordan logo. Hatfield’s creation is known today as the Tinker-Rod. Pictured here is a rare sample of the sneakers with the Albersons supermarket logo etched in the toe-box. We heard a rumor that there was a sample made in P-Rod’s size with the Albersons logo, but had never seen a photo (until today). These sneakers are currently for sale on the ‘bay! Nike Trainer 1 Mid + Air Zoom Brave

Last night, we gave you a sneak peek inside the new Nike Harajuku flagship store, and to celebrate this weekend’s opening, Nike will be dropping two new player exclusive models inspired by two of Japan’s most revered athletes. Phenom pitcher, Yu Darvish, has been on the radars of Major League Baseball scouts for quite a while and will likely wind up in the U.S. very soon, but before he leaves, Nike is honoring him with his very own Trainer 1 Mid PE in a combination of white, silver, royal and yellow. The athlete that inspired the other new PE may not be a household name to you, but point guard Yuta Tabuse is known as the Japanese Jordan, and was actually the first Japanese-born NBA player when he made his debut for the Phoenix Suns in 2004. The Yuta Tabuse PE comes in the form of a flashy metallic gold Zoom Brave III with some cool multi-colored laces. Japan PEs - Nike Trainer 1 AP + Air

Nike is currently augmenting their presence in Japan with the opening of the Harajuku location in Tokyo. To accompany this store’s opening, Nike commissioned two of Japan’s premier athletes to create their own color-up of a Nike silhouette.Yu Darvish, the adolescent pitching prodigy, worked on the Trainer 1 AP, while Yuta Tabuse, the first Japanese basketball player to make it to the NBA, took to the Air Zoom Brave III. The Trainer possesses a white, silver, blue, and yellow upper, while the Brave III is wrapped in various golden materials.These sneakers debuted at the Harajuku store’s opening on this past Saturday, November 14th. Harajuku opens in Japan with two athletes commissioned to design Nike shoes. With Yu Darvish working on the Nike Trainer 1 AP, the sneaker came up with a White/Silver upper with hints of Blue and Yellow. The Nike Air Zoom Brave III was done up by basketball player, Yuta Tabuse in Gold upper with speckled sole.
