Nike Air Trainer TW II - Tecmo Bo -

Last month, we gave you a preview of an intriguing new Air Trainer TW II release that honors the legacy of Bo Jackson in a creative way, by not only using his black/silver Raiders color scheme, but also including a pixelated Bo character from the popular 80’s video game, Tecmo Bowl, on the tongue label. We have since seen a Blazer High that gives a nod to Bo’s baseball days as a Kansas City Royal and a Sky Force High that also sports the Raider’s color scheme and pixelated graphics. Now, we get a look at two more Air Trainer TW II colorways that stick to the Tecmo Bo theme.One pair sports a similar black/silver color scheme to the first Tecmo Bo Trainer II that we showed you, but this version goes with a simpler look, using an all black leather upper instead of the patent leather and textured heel pattern. The other new colorway also keeps it simple, opting for a white leather upper with grey and silver accents. Nike “Make Your Mark In 7″ Cont

In the golden years of sneaker culture, most of the philosophy was driven by a basketball fan base.  However as years past and times changed, sneakers styles expanded and so did the people that influenced and supported it.  And so, new sports came into the spotlight, becoming new inspiration to which causes designs and styles to multiply exponentially.  Boxing may seem like a sport that isn’t included in this scenario, being that their athletic footwear doesn’t vary much from boxer to boxer.  But Manny Pacquiao’s victorious story has certainly become something of legend. And so, as Manny fights Miguel Cotto in Vegas for a new title in the welterweight division, Nike is giving 150 lucky Filipinos the opportunity to a live screening of the bout.  The invitation-only viewing will be in the city of Makati, Philippines.  The winners will be chosen for the best 7-word story to depict Pacman’s journey to obtain a record-breaking 7th title across 7 different weight divisions.  During the screening, it will be announced who was chosen with the absolute best entry, which will be awarded with a super-exlusive pair of MP Air Trainer 1’s, of course designed close

Nike Trainer 1 Mid + Air Zoom Brave

Last night, we gave you a sneak peek inside the new Nike Harajuku flagship store, and to celebrate this weekend’s opening, Nike will be dropping two new player exclusive models inspired by two of Japan’s most revered athletes. Phenom pitcher, Yu Darvish, has been on the radars of Major League Baseball scouts for quite a while and will likely wind up in the U.S. very soon, but before he leaves, Nike is honoring him with his very own Trainer 1 Mid PE in a combination of white, silver, royal and yellow. The athlete that inspired the other new PE may not be a household name to you, but point guard Yuta Tabuse is known as the Japanese Jordan, and was actually the first Japanese-born NBA player when he made his debut for the Phoenix Suns in 2004. The Yuta Tabuse PE comes in the form of a flashy metallic gold Zoom Brave III with some cool multi-colored laces. Japan PEs - Nike Trainer 1 AP + Air

Nike is currently augmenting their presence in Japan with the opening of the Harajuku location in Tokyo. To accompany this store’s opening, Nike commissioned two of Japan’s premier athletes to create their own color-up of a Nike silhouette.Yu Darvish, the adolescent pitching prodigy, worked on the Trainer 1 AP, while Yuta Tabuse, the first Japanese basketball player to make it to the NBA, took to the Air Zoom Brave III. The Trainer possesses a white, silver, blue, and yellow upper, while the Brave III is wrapped in various golden materials.These sneakers debuted at the Harajuku store’s opening on this past Saturday, November 14th. Nike Trainer 1 PE – Larry Fitzger
