Nike P-Rod x Tinker x Jordan - Zoom

While growing up in San Fernando Valley, Paul Rodriguez (P-Rod) would take his skateboard to the loading dock at his local Albertsons supermarket and practice tricks. Fast forward a handful of years and Paul Rodriguez was blessed with a signature shoe from Nike SB. Then, the greatest designer to ever blueprint a bubble decided to put his own hands on the first Nike P-Rod. Sir Tinker Hatfield is the architect and designer who fused elements of the first P-Rod sneakers with cement print and the Air Jordan logo. Hatfield’s creation is known today as the Tinker-Rod. Pictured here is a rare sample of the sneakers with the Albersons supermarket logo etched in the toe-box. We heard a rumor that there was a sample made in P-Rod’s size with the Albersons logo, but had never seen a photo (until today). These sneakers are currently for sale on the ‘bay! Nike Zoom Kobe IV For Game 4

words_Nick DePaulaAs the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Orlando Magic shortly for Game 4 of the 2009 NBA Finals, Kobe Bryant will be breaking out yet another colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV. Featuring a similar text graphic pattern along the collar and toe vamp as the pair that Bryant wore in Game 1 of the Finals, this version features hits of black patent leather along the toe as well as gold and purple accents. The shoe sits atop a partially translucent purple outsole and features the speckled laces that we’ve come to expect from the Zoom Kobe IV. Nike Zoom Glove | Vis Zoom Sample

Whether it was molding a unibody foam-based shoe, toying with full-length Air applications or even regretfully “tuning” their Air and even coming up with “Tubular” Air, amongst their misses, at least they were often trying. One of the more understated and clean models to release during that late 90’s era was the Zoom Flight ‘98, or Zoom Glove as it affectionately became known — signature shoe of Sonics’ guard Gary Payton. With its fully enclosed zipper shroud appearance, unique Swoosh placement and quiet confidence, the Eric Avar designed Zoom Glove was a hit in the only two colorways it released in, a black/white/red neoprene-based version and white/black/green synethtic leather iteration.What you may not have known is that the Zoom Glove was also weartested with a heel and forefoot visible Zoom Air tooling underneath that subtle upper.
