Converse First String - Spring 2010

First Look: DJ AM x Nike Dunk High

When Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, passed away months ago, the sneaker community lost one of its one. As an avid collector, AM had some amazing and rare sneakers. And while his eBay auction for charity has been your best bet at grabbing a pair of his sneakers, we finally get a look at his official collaboration Nike Dunk High Premium.AM left a clue to these on his Twitter page, tweeting that he finally had designed is own Dunk. Now we see why he was so happy. These feature black patent leather on the heel flap and toe box. DJ AM x Nike Dunk High Premium –

Since the unfortunately death of DJ AM, many have wondered if the Nike Dunk he designed with Nike will ever release. There have been talk that Nike will release the sneaker but earlier today Kasina has confirmed that they will released by surprisingly releasing them. This collaboration Dunk features DJ AM’s logo on the tongue, black patent leather wrapping much of the shoe and red premium leather for the toebox, side panels and the upper heel while balanced out by the white swoosh and the red midsole. A unique feature are three rows of perforations along the heel with 3M material underneath. We are sure that an announcement regarding the availability of these will be made soon regarding release info, still with Sneaker News for the update. DJ AM x Nike Dunk High Premium | Fi

DJ AM was an important part of sneaker culture, and his legacy as a premier sneaker collector is cemented with this sneaker, that was rumored to be shut down. Now, Freshness has images of the sneaker and it appears that the AM model will be released. The model shown here is a signature model that features his name and logo on the tongue. The classic colorway of black and red, along with the traditional Dunk colorblocking, make this a great classic model. 3M is used on the swoosh to bisect the sneaker and it’s also used behind the Technics 1200 turntable-inspired perforations on the heel in gradient dots.
