words_Nick DePaulaAs the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Orlando Magic shortly for Game 4 of the 2009 NBA Finals, Kobe Bryant will be breaking out yet another colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV. Featuring a similar text graphic pattern along the collar and toe vamp as the pair that Bryant wore in Game 1 of the Finals, this version features hits of black patent leather along the toe as well as gold and purple accents. The shoe sits atop a partially translucent purple outsole and features the speckled laces that we’ve come to expect from the Zoom Kobe IV. Whether it was molding a unibody foam-based shoe, toying with full-length Air applications or even regretfully “tuning” their Air and even coming up with “Tubular” Air, amongst their misses, at least they were often trying. One of the more understated and clean models to release during that late 90’s era was the Zoom Flight ‘98, or Zoom Glove as it affectionately became known — signature shoe of Sonics’ guard Gary Payton. With its fully enclosed zipper shroud appearance, unique Swoosh placement and quiet confidence, the Eric Avar designed Zoom Glove was a hit in the only two colorways it released in, a black/white/red neoprene-based version and white/black/green synethtic leather iteration.What you may not have known is that the Zoom Glove was also weartested with a heel and forefoot visible Zoom Air tooling underneath that subtle upper. Although the Nike SB Zoom Classic is not as popular as other Sb models such as the Dunk or Blazer, it continues to get attention and receive new colorways. This time around, we see a pair constructed from suede, which sports a midnight fog upper along with black and volt colored accents. Nike Zoom Kobe IV Draft Day

We saw this colorway of the Zoom Kobe IV appear a couple months back, but now we have word that has started to arrive at retailers like Millennium Shoes.The Nike Zoom Kobe IV Draft Day comes in the Charlotte Hornets team colors, yes, Kobe was drafted by the Hornets before being sent west to the Lakers. This makeup also features the date of his draft date on the heel. Nike Zoom Kobe IV ‘Draft Day’

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV ‘Draft Day’ which we caught a look at back in April has started to arrive at Nike retailers throughout the country.As we originally reported the Zoom Kobe IV uses a design which pays tribute to the Charlotte Horents who originally drafted Kobe Bryant out of High School in 1996. The shoes use a colorup of white, teal (blue) and purple which matches up perfectly with the uniforms that the Charlotte Horents use to wear.
