An interesting design popped up in Creative Recreation’s new Italian Collection for Fall 09. The LA-based footwear company has incorporated an innovative removable upper zipper design which allowed the wearer to convert his hi-top into a boat shoe sneaker and vice versa. Other than an added functionality, the collection stays classy in a basic color palette of black, white and browns, with premium leather upper of different treatments. While there is a pair of ultra hi-top with blend of brown suede and white leather upper, there are others featuring a brighter polished patent black leather. Creative Recreation really got creative with the designs for their upcoming fall 09 Italian Collection. Premium leathers and suedes and muted tones make this collection something special but the thing that brings it all together is the unique use of a zipper to create a detachable upper. New Balance 999 Feral Creation Coll

At its original release in 1996, the New Balance 999 was a technologically ground-breaking sneaker. On September 9th (9/9/09), the 999 Feral Creation Collection will release, thanks in part to Japan’s mita and Singapore-based retailer Leftfoot, as New Balance makes an effort to connect with its classic sneaker from the past and bring it forward into the future.The pack includes four total pairs–2 inspired by and designed in conjunction with each store–with a 660-pair limited drop and a general release pair each. Leftfoot drew inspiration from the king of the jungle, the Lion, for its tier zero release. Featuring a mix of materials–suede, nylon, leather and reflective 3m–the Leftfoot 999 uses a grey sole inspired by the concrete jungle, contrasted by a dark grey upper with bright red and purple accents. Leftfoot’s general release 999 draws inspiration from the native-to-Singapore Peacock. New Balance 999 Feral Creation Coll

New Balance continues to accept collaboration from a couple of Asian shops that lead to the production of the 999 Feral Creation Collection. It is Mita and Leftfoot who came up with the idea of the mixed materials applied on each pair of kicks composing the collection. From the concrete jungle and Lion-inspired sneaker, one pair comes in a dark Grey upper with bright Red and Purple accents. The next pair has a native-to-Singapore peacock inspiration with its Black/Grey forefoot and a Teal/Blue heel. The third pair uses the Grey mouse and Black crow theme with a multiple shades of Grey. Finally, the last pair has the simplest form in Black colorway with a faux horse hair accent.
