The adidas Superstar has been around for a long time and has seen its fair share of materials and colorways over the years, but now the classic shoe receives one of its boldest color schemes yet as part of the adidas Originals collection. With the NBA season ready to tip off, adidas will introduce this flashy Los Angeles Lakers-inspired version of the legendary shoe, a tribute to last season’s NBA Championship. Rather than going with the predictable purple/yellow palette, the Lakers Superstar swaps out the yellow for some shiny metallic gold leather. Sections of purple and yellow suede provide the accents with a white toe cap, midsole and lining giving the shoe a touch of the traditional Superstar flavor. As a cherry on top, the insoles feature the Lakers’ logo and the number 15, a nod to their impressive 15th NBA title. If you’re a Lakers diehard or just like these kicks, you will find them at select adidas retailers beginning November 1st. The NBA World Champion Los Angeles Lakers kick off their 2009/2010 season tonight, hanging their 15th NBA Champion banner in The Staples Center. In honor of the impressive accomplishment, adidas Originals has created a special Lakers themed colorway of their Superstar model. Featuring a predominantly metallic gold upper, the low-top is accented with hits of purple and yellow on its suede Stripes, as well as Lakers insignia on its tongue tag and insole. The shoes yield a metallic gold upper with a white shell toe and white sole unit. Accenting the upper is a purple and gold suede adidas three-stripe logo with a purple suede heel panel. Watch out for the release of Adidas Originals by Original Kazuki Fall/Winter collection - Campus 80s. The sneaks sports some minor detailing such as pull-tab on the heel and tongue, as well as a brilliant suede blue upper with white stitching, lining and out/midsoles.
