Redman x adidas Superstar II - Def

As we have previously reported, in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Def Jam the corporate heads have hooked up with adidas to put together a lineup of sneakers, some of which have been designed by artists signed to Def Jam. When it comes to the kicks designed by the artists we have previously taken a look at the Young Jeezy x adidas Forum and the Ghostface Killah x adidas Forum.Adding to the collection is an adidas Superstar II designed by Redman. The sneakers feature a hearty red suede upper with the adidas signature three stripes in black. The toe is white and little specs of red are included on the white outsole that take you back to Redmans debut LP “Whut? Thee Album. The tongue tag sports an image of Redman with his name printed below him in silver and the heel tab features the adidas logo as well as “Funk Doc” in silver. American rapper and actor, Reginald Noble a.k.a. “Redman” joined Adidas in touching up a pair of Superstar II. With the sneaker’s classic White midsole and shell-toe design, Redman added some Red splatters on it in honor of his debut LP, Whut? Thee Album. Red suede covers the upper with a leather heel cap and an embossed “REDMAN” is found on the back portion of the midsole. adidas Superstar II – Redman

Redman, born as Reginald “Reggie” Noble, is an iconic figure in the American rap scene, and adidas has decided to honor the rap legend with his own colorway of the Superstar II. This colorway hosts a red suede upper accented by an orange midsole stripe, three black stripes, a white toebox, black inner lining, and a white midsole. A couple other key aspects of this Superstar II include the image of Redman on the tongue, Redman inscribed into the heel, as well as “Funk Doc” on the rear. Def Jam x adidas Superstar II – 2

Though Def Jam has had adidas create some shoes to honor their success and 25th anniversary, the record label powerhouse has also produced some to pay respect to some of their staple artists who have not only help build the company itself, but have created legendary names of their own.  Here an adidas Superstar II for the likes of Def Jam’s funny man and super MC, Redman.  Featuring a rather vibrant red suede upper and speckled sole, the shoe design is made to resemble his breakthrough album, “Whut? Thee Album.”  Additionally, a portrait of is found on the tongue, and the typical branding on the back of the midsole and the heel tab is respectively replaced with “Redman” and his other moniker, “Funk Doc.”  To top things off, the pair comes with a second pair of infrared type colored laces, just in case the radiance of the upper itself wasn’t loud enough.  Along with these Superstars, adidas has also manufactured a tshirt that also features Def Jam and Redman branding, as well as nods to his album.  Executing just as hard as one of Redman’s punchlines, these can be found at select adidas retailers like Extra Butter.Read t close
