Def Jam x adidas Forum + Stan Smith

Two brands that have made some major contributions to urban style and culture during their lifespans are both celebrating significant anniversaries this year. Pioneering hip-hop label Def Jam is turning 25 this year, while adidas will mark its 60th anniversary. With adidas kicks and classic hip-hop going hand in hand, it made perfect sense to team up for a co-celebration of the respective milestones. Def Jam and adidas have joined forces to co-brand some anniversary editions of a few of adidas’s classic models. The first batch consists of a red and gold Forum and a black and red Stan Smith. Both feature Def Jam and adidas branding, as well as a special “AD.60.DJ.25″ logo in recognition of the double anniversary. Def Jam x adidas – 25th Anniversa

Doc’s Da Name 2000 . . . and 9.  Such is the case with this latest adidas Forum.  Whereas his Superstar II was the logical pairing of tonal red leathers and one of the most famous silhouettes in hip-hop’s, and certainly Def Jam’s 25 year history.  If there’s a legacy involved here, it looks like it could be USA Basketball, since the Funk Doctor Spock got down with a gold, red, white and blue palette for the Forum.  It’s mostly blue on the upper with splashes of red and gold, plus a nice white outsole that doesn’t feature the speckled outsole found on the Superstar II.  Both the Superstar II and Forum are available now on eBay.   Photos: 95Soleman/Shaolin8Read the rest of Def Jam x adidas – 25th Anniversary Collection – Redman – Superstar II + Forum© Sneaker News, 2009. |Permalink |No comment |Add todel.icio.us close

Jeremy Scott x adidas – JS Wings

By now, when people think of Jeremy Scott designed adidas sneakers, the first thing that will likely come to mind are the JS Wings. The shoe is a modified version of the adidas Metro Attitude Hi that has been given a completely new look thanks to the giant leather wings that hang off the side. We have already seen White and Metallic Gold versions of the JS Wings and now, Jeremy has blessed us with two new colorways of the attention-grabbing style. Joining the JS Wings family will be a Black on Black edition and a Metallic Silver pair with Black accents. As wild as these might seem, they are actually almost tame compared to some of the other sneaker creations that Scott has whipped up for adidas. Fafi x adidas Honey Mid + Stan Smit

Fafi is one of Paris’ most celebrated artists so its only right that adidas tap him to inject a little style into two of their more stylish models. The artisan adds a little black and white graphic flavor to the Stan Smith and the Honey. The shoes feature characters from his upcoming comic book which is soon to be released next year. With tan accents adding a little gravity to the design these are a very clean alternative to the louder designs you see on the streets. Via Colette close

adidas Stan Smith + Superstar – S
