As a rookie, the young prodigy was still trying to figure out how to fit in with his older teammates, how to balance the shift from Prom to the Pros, and oh yeah, he was kicking off his budding career with another brand, having signed a deal straight out of High School with adidas Basketball, masterminded by prep guru Sonny Vacarro. With Antoine Walker, Tracy McGrady and Bryant the three stars of the future that Vacarro hand selected for the Three Stripes (two out of three ain’t bad…), each wore the adidas EQT Top Ten 2010, a futuristic look at the brand’s new Feet You Wear concept, debuted a season earlier in the EQT Top Ten 2000.It appeared to be a goofy concept at the time, as Feet You Wear didn’t quite connect with people looking for giant air-bags and other visible cushioning contraptions, but as we’ve now seen today with Nike’s heralded â€Å"Freeâ€Â� campaign, adidas was certainly onto something when they introduced barefoot-inspired athletic footwear in 1995. words & images_Nick DePaulaYesterday we brought you the new adidas Drop Top in white/black & black/black, and today we have a look at two more versions of the off-court hoops shoe that will begin releasing this August. In Medium Lead/Royal and Navy/Grey, these versions of the Drop Top take on more color and textures than yesterday’s more basic renditions. Made up of a semi-gloss synthetic rand, nubuck and faux croc skin, the Medium Lead version is set off by its white outsole and hits of royal blue. Along the Navy based version, you’ll find navy patent leather atop the two customizable midfoot straps, as well as a rich reptilian synthetic along the rand that encircles the entire shoe. adidas Drop Top in White & Black

words & images_Nick DePaulaThis summer, adidas plans to release their latest hoops shoe aimed at both lightweight performance as well as off-court style with the Drop Top. The Drop Top, seen here in white/black and black/black colorways, features two prominent straps along the midfoot that can be worn down, up or however you may please. The collar can be adjusted to your liking as well in the versatile Drop Top, as it continues the design direction that adidas Basketball has taken recently with less emphasis placed on striping up the midfoot.With a full herringbone outsole and EVA midsole, the Drop Top sits low with its double-lasted construction. Along the white based version you’ll find a combination of patent leather, synthetic leather and perforated leather with hits of black accenting, while the all black colorway features a mix of nubuck, semi-gloss leather and faux croc skin along the midfoot straps. Adidas Tournament Edition Collectio

Adidas is coming up with its Tournament Edition Collection, featuring four classic shoes namely StanSmith Vintage, Grand Slam Vintage, Nastase Super, and Lendl Comp Vintage. This tennis inspired premium vintage sneaker collection is expected to return this upcoming Fall. All four comes in white colorway premium leathers with minimal accents. close

XLarge x Adidas Superstar –

Adidas has just made a perfect tie-up with XLarge, a clothing store based in LA, California in coming up with a new colorway of the Original Superstar. The shoe features purple and green snakeskin leather side panel and cream toe box and mid-sole. The suede stripes, tongue and back panel are in black color. And to finally make the Superstar a more interesting one, shoe laces have â€Å"XLarge Getting No Respect Since ‘91â€Â� printed on them. Expect for these to drop toward fall / winter of this year. close
