adidas Originals X PPQ | First Look

There’s Jeremy Scott with his ultra wild and courageous collaboration with adidas Originals, but the folks over at London’s PPQ (Pretty Personal Question) decides to take another route for their collaboration with adidas Originals. The collection  is fierce and tough but retains simplicity and class with a basic palette of black and white. Think sleek shiny patent leggings, lace-up boots, shorts and striped sweaters. adidas Originals Five-Two 3 City Ar

adidas has really stepped their collaboration status up lately, working with industry-leading retailers like Bodega and Undefeated on recent packs. Next up is the Five-Two 3 City Artist Pack, which pairs the footwear company with five artists from five major international art hotbeds.London’s Pochoir worked on a Superstar, making the heel area appear like a worn-down brick wall. From Italy, photographer Fakso went to work on the Nizza High, dressing it in black accents on yellow tone photo. French influence is seen in the gold Flor De Lis that appear over blue nubuck on the KRSN x Stan Smith 80. Japanese-influenced New York transplant Dalek dressed a Forum Mid with his Space Monkey character and multiple shades of grey on a black leather base. The fifth and final shoe in the pack is an adidas Samba designed by MADSAKI, who is based out of Tokyo. Adidas gave privileges to various artists like London’s Pochoir, Italian photographer, Fakso, French’s KRSN, Japanese-influenced NY transplant, Dalek, and Tokyo’s Madsaki. Each worked on a particular sneaker such as the Superstar, Nizza High, Stan Smith 80, Forum Mid, and Samba. All five models receive exceptional and excellent collaboration from the chosen artists. You may have already seen some of adidas’ recent collab works in the form of the Madsaki Samba and the Dalek Forum Mid.  But what you may have overlooked is that these two are part of the new adidas Originals Five-Two 3 City Artist Pack.  So we already know that New York and Japan are being represented.  But who are the other international three privileged to be part of the collection?Pochoir, of London, lays some design upon a Superstar.  A smooth grey tint for the upper with blue hits reminds us of the Blue Note Pro Model adidas made last year as part of the Sounds of the City Pack.  The brick pattern along the heel is probably some type of tribute to his street environment where he usually creates his works.  The Stan Smith was blessed by Paris- illustrtor KRSN.  His French background is apparent in the gold fleur-di-lis, found on a deep blue nubuck upper.  Lastly, adidas chose Fakso to work on a Nizza.  Predominantly a black shoe, the medial upper becomes a canvas to simulate the rawness the Milan photographer captures in his photos.  All different, yet wonderfully unique, pairs to shoe the creativity and diversity of global output.  via HBRead the rest o close

Pochoir’s Superstar is reminiscent of a romp thru the streets of London with a satirical feel and stone wall upper. The tan toned classic has ditched the stitched stripes in favor of painted on ones and comes complete with lace locks and a speckled trefoil. These are definitely slightly more subtle than the rest of the pack but awesome nonetheless. Via Hypebeast close
