While most sneaker designs never gain traction in the marketplace with customers. A few have become sort of iconoclast, symbolizing fashion trends, customer interest, even arrival of seasons. Such is the case of ZX 700 Boat from adidas Originals. By integrating the retro ZX 700 outsole with boat shoe upper, its unique styling has become a seasonal sign for the arrival of Fall/Winter, since adidas launched the initial model a year ago. Now this modern classic is back, with supple brown leather intertwined with tone-on-tone corduroy upper. Finished with grommets and hand-lace across the heel panel. adidas Originals – ZX 700 Boat Co

Something borrowed, something blue . . . something like that.  With the latest batch of adidas ZX 700 Boat releases, we recognize the formula for one, see another in an oreo-with-skim-milk colourup and find a new and welcome surprise for this marriage of classic runner and boat shoe.  The familiar pair mixes a recognizable dress-casual fabric with browns and orange just like another pair from last year.Intead of that pair’s plaid ankle, these joints opt for medium-waled corduroy.  The crunchy cookie pair goes with a high contrast white and black blocking and adds a strip of royal blue to nudge your outfit along.  Our favourites are the above pair in a super knappy grey suede that looks like they’d actually be good for a rough and tumble boat shoe except, well, they’re suede.  Consider your climate and choose the appropriate pair(s) from Caliroots.Read the rest of adidas Originals – ZX 700 Boat Collection© Sneaker News, 2009. |Permalink |One comment |Add todel.icio.us close

adidas Originals Spring 2010 ZX 700

Adidas has just given us a look at their Concord Mid and already, as we’ve stated before, Adidas has introduced us to some Spring 2010 sneakers. Although the Spring is far from here it’s still nice seeing what we can expect in the future. In the collection you’ll find a pair of the ZX 700 and the ZX 800. What we like about the collection is the fact that we have a choice to choose between the old or the new. Really glad Adidas has decided to choose these runners to release.Let’s talk about their latest runners first, the ZX 800. The sneaker is introduced to us in a black embossed leather upper, along with white accents found on the mid-sole. The second runner, the ZX 700, is the more sought out sneaker then the two from my opinion. The ZX 700 comes in a brown suede upper with darker brown suede accents, which also in the end is topped of with a white mid-sole. Both kicks are available now at mita sneakers in Japan. Miami’s destination retail spot, ShoeGallery, is know for its keen selection of limited edition kicks, gear and graffiti supplies to fill up a daunting 3,500 square-feet store. When taking their wonderful taste and combining it with a dose of creativity and artistry from the Upset Gentlemen (from Miami Ink), the result is as expected, nothing sub par and everything beyond. The duo from Miami has collaborated with adidas Originals to rework one of the label’s most popular new silhouettes, the ZX 700 Boat, which has been garnering a lot of attention and fans since it was introduced.The collaborative version draws inspiration from the vintage nautical, combining Oxblood Red leather upper with a neutral bone panel, highlighted with stunning golden eyelets and then thrown in with a surprising blue/white gingham lining and ankle panel twist for a refreshing vibe.
